I felt like I was on the journey south with them, cracked roads and all. He often left me wondering where he was going and when we were going to get there. The activities really make you think about your life and can be used to learn about yourself in order to overcome alcoholism or drug addiction, and could be applied to many other life struggles as well. But perhaps this reader should have heeded the subtitle: "A Novel Account of Utopia in Mexico." Silly me, I took the word 'novel' in its root meaning of 'new' or 'unusual.' I was halfway through the first chapter before I divined that author Toby Green had 'fiction' in mind for me. Orson Scott Card (well known to sf circles as the author of Ender's Game) presents his advice on writing science fiction and fantasy. Seeing these two unlikely people get together is a whole lot of fun.. I suspect Serena Nanda's intended audience are freshmen anthropology students, but "Gender Diversity" could be read by the general reader as well.
