My son, who is an aspiring writer was so excited to receive this! He didn't know that his favorite author even had written a book on writing, so it was a great surprise. I used the section "Talking to your Boss" in a conversation I needed to have, and for which I was a little nervous. It gave me a taste of how much I enjoy those precious times eating together and reminded me of how much I want to do more of that. It gives you a good accounting of all of the steam locomotives used (I didn't realize there were so many), plus something on their designs, histories, operational characteristics, triumphs (e.g., climbing Saluda), and troubles (e.g., the Great Dismal Swamp derailment, various breakdowns). Certainly a worthwhile investment, the author provides his perspective on the changes impacting institutional & retail asset management, and provides a rationale for the explosion of new retail-oriented investment products.
