Book two of the Frost Saga continues the exciting nautical adventures launched in The Private Revolution of Geoffrey Frost, hailed as “an auspicious start” by Library Journal and now available in paperback.

Mariner, merchant, and reluctant warrior, Geoffrey Frost has entered the American Revolution on behalf of the colony of New Hampshire, commanding a captured British sloop o’ war and sailing out of Portsmouth to harass the British fleet. As Audacity opens, he is returning from Canada following a daring rescue of American prisoners held at Louisburg when he sails into a fog bank -- and straight into a British convoy shepherded by a thirty-two gun frigate.

In serving the American cause, Frost will impersonate a British merchant, capture several supply ships, order the execution of some of his own countrymen who have turned pirate and renegade, and perform an extraordinary feat of navigation in order to restore two men to the ship of the great explore

Editorial : From Booklist
This is the second volume of the Frost Saga, which is the story of one Geoffrey Frost, a mariner from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, who--as Fender describes him in all modesty--is a great navigator, ingenious military commander, and fierce armed combatant, and learned in history, philosophy, and other fields. The story is set during the American Revolution, and Frost's accomplishments include capturing several British ships while performing "an extraordinary feat of navigation" to return two sailors to the ship commanded by the explorer Captain James Cook. This entertaining novel is filled with the vernacular of that time and place (such as "'Tis coming on a blow and I wish to be well off soundings when the weather arrives"). Fender offers historical detail (and includes a historical note reminding readers that the War for American Independence was a naval war), plenty of action, and unforgettable characters. George Cohen

Readers of the genre will know what neither Drinkwater nor Hornblower knew, that the Spanish will change sides. The only reason I bought this book was because Trainspotting was fabulous. Where do you stay enroute? And, which is the safest route to take? How to contact people you can trust for an overnight stay in El Paso, Texas? These folks were undaunted in pursuit of their social and personal agendas and just kept forging ahead. This book is well written and actually fun to read. The authors discussion is illuminating, and shows how eliminating any torsion information allows one to prove some interesting res
